Alternate takes have been common in throughout jazz history. They consist of the various recordings of a piece of music, made in a single day, that weren’t selected for the final album (although they often appear as bonus material at the end of records). All of the Cow recordings on this page were made over the course of a single sunny afternoon, somewhere in the fields to the north of Amsterdam. None of them ever made it onto a Tin Men record, despite their attempts to vary the feel and mood of the piece. They were featured on Tin Men’s infamous first iOS app “Appjenou?!”. The texts are by Heidi Heidelberg, and the videos are screen captures from he app.
